Alaska Halibut
Halibut is the largest flatfish in the world; it can grow up to nine feet in
length and weigh several hundred pounds. Its firm white flesh has a delicate
mild flavor that lends itself to a variety of recipes. The vast majority of
this halibut is sold fresh and come in a variety of forms... fillets, portions
and steaks. Alaska halibut are harvested from early March until mid November
each year with the fishing grounds stretching from Northern California to the
tip of the Aleutian Chain to almost Nome, Alaska. Icicle Seafoods has been a
leading processor of halibut since the company’s inception in 1965.
